ChiChi first appears in Dragonball.  She's a feisty girl who travels the countryside without fear.  Daughter of the Ix King, she is quickly smitten by Goku, who is of course clueless about this. 

Eventually she gets Goku to agree to marry her, though he agrees because he thinks marriage is something having to do with food.  When he sees ChiChi years later and she reminds him of the marriage, he really doesn’t understand what he committed himself too – but his big heart wins out and he marries her. 

In DBZ she is a different wife and mother than the person we originally met.  As someone who was in a tournament, it is surprising that she is against her and Goku's son being a warrior.  But she pushes him to study and study and study.  ChiChi tends to faint a lot when receiving news like the fact her son is in danger.  When he does leave off on adventures she is certain to make sure he packs everything he might need and then some.  To say ChiChi has become an overbearing mother would be an understatement.  However, ChiChi did not lose her feisty spirit.  She is so spunky and ridiculously brave that she even takes a broom and goes to attack Buu. 

Once Goten was born she was a different person yet again.  Whereas Gohan was made to be a scholar and not a fighter, ChiChi is seen training with Goten.  She seemed to have loosened up somewhere along the lines. 

Being married to a man like Goku who is consistently gone is not an easy job.  ChiChi takes it in stride.  It isn’t being her but she does it and does it well.
