{Bulma's note: due to Nappa being a Saiyan this enemy bio is longer than most.  I also left the spelling of names as Gohan made them.  With so many variations being out there I didn't think it necessary to change them just to match my spellings.}

Nappa was one big Saiyan.  Larger in size and stature than Vegeta and more muscular looking at least, Nappa was considerably weaker than his Saiyan comrade.  He, along with Raditz and Vegeta, was spared Frieza’s destruction of the Saiyan homeworld.  We first meet our bald-headed Saiyan on a planet with Vegeta on a purge mission for Frieza.  He boasts of his strength and gets those on the planet to gather together their strongest warriors to fight.  He kills them all almost effortlessly and then both he and Vegeta proceed to rid the planet of all sentient life.  After doing so, they decide to head to Earth hearing of Raditz’s defeat and also with the desire to wish for immortality using the magical power of the dragonballs.

They both arrive on Earth and immediately Nappa begins his destruction annihilating a city.  The Z-warriors gather and challenge the two Saiyans.  They laugh at this as Nappa then goes about planting six seeds which grow into six green skinned aliens known as Saibamen.  The battle ensues and Yamcha is killed.  After awhile, it seems that things are going well for the warriors when Vegeta instructs Nappa to take care of the Earthlings.  They attack Nappa and for awhile it looks as if all is hopeless against the onslaught.  Chiaotzu then latches onto Nappa and uses an interdimensional attack self-destructing himself to try and destroy Nappa.  As the smoke clears, Chiaotzu is dead and Nappa stands unscathed.  Nappa then proceeds to kill Tien and then decides to go after Gohan and Krillin.  As Krillin fights, he even manages to launch a Destructo Disc attack at Nappa.  Nappa, being the brainless brute that he is, almost tries to catch the thing, but dodges it after being scolded by Vegeta. 

Nappa finally decides to rid himself of Gohan sensing the threat that lies within him if provoked.  He fires a blast and in a sacrificial attempt for his friend, Piccolo takes the blast shielding Gohan and killing himself in the process.  For a moment, it seems that all is lost for Krillin and Gohan when suddenly Goku arrives on the scene.  Nappa fights Goku, and is easily overpowered in one simple blow.  Angered, Nappa sets his sights on Gohan and Krillin and charges towards them both with death in his eyes.  Goku, calling upon the help of the Kaioken technique sallies forth and stops the heavy Saiyan dead in his tracks.

The large Saiyan defeated at last is thrown at the feet of Vegeta pleading for help from his comrade.  Vegeta, annoyed by the elite’s weakness, grabs him by the hand and launches him into the air.  Vegeta then blasts Nappa away sending him off into the other dimension.

Nappa was definitely tough, but he did not have the brains to match the strength.  Had he been more honorable in battle, perhaps Vegeta would have spared him.  Perhaps its because he is the only Saiyan we know who was bald and had a goatee.  Whatever the reason, he is however, an enemy to be admired.

Nappa does have a very brief appearance in Dragonball GT, but it is only to come back and then be once again killed by the Saiyan Prince himself, Vegeta.
