The Hoover Boys

Because there are 8 Hoover boys, not to mention their offsprings (None of the girls are here.  Check the Humans page.), they get their own page.  They are listed in alphabetical order here on this page - but here is the birth order: Cole, Wolfgang, Plato, Socrates, Amadeus, Romeo, Solomon, and Horatio.  

Growing up they were required by their father to learn two things in addition to normal school and church things - sports and an instrument, those are listed with each person.

Amadeus is well known for being the 6:00 news anchor in LA.  His face is on television, billboards, and a few bachelor of the year magazine articles.  He's a hard working news man with dreams of some day having his own talk show along the lines of his idol Phil Donohue.

Charles is the son of Cole Morgan and his ex-wife Tina.  Having been taken away from his father when he was barely 4, he has no recollection of him.  His mother, Tina, raised him to think Cole was dead and that they were in the witness protection program.  This lie led him to never question the last name change to Amato (Though by birth he is Charles Morgan. Amato was an assumed name and all his official records now reflect that.)  He moved around a lot as a young boy but by the time he was about 9 his mother had scored a wealthy husband.   He has been thru 5 step-fathers in his life so far - each one richer than the one before.  Charles is a rich kid but he doesn't really act like one. . . well, not often.  

Cole Morgan, (born Homer Hoover) attorney at law is Tobias' partner in the law firm Mitchell and Morgan.  They went to law school together and are about as close as two (straight) men who work 70 hour weeks with no time for a social life can be. Pretty straight-laced guy but being a defense attorney does tempt him to bend rules and push the envelope quite often.  He tries to wear contacts but has a habit of running late and just grabbing his glasses on the way out.

Cole has a son named Charles (who doesn't live with them).  He searches for the boy with all his heart and resources.  His greatest dream, other than being president, is finding his son.

Horatio lives in Florida where he is studying Veterinary Medicine.  He lives with his roommate Brody and the boys are avid surfers when not in class.  Horatio also boxes for the school, for which they give him a partial scholarship.  He makes extra cash by delivering pizzas in the evenings and weekends.

Until puberty these fraternal twins were your typical well adjusted middle class kids.  But then it changed.  Jonah now possesses the power of molecule manipulation, and Joshua possessed the ability to freeze matter and people.  They have kept this secret and only work with each other to try and perfect the powers.  Slowly they learn, and slowly they grow in power. Unfortunately Jonah has developed a change in personality and gone from the once always good boy, to the rebellious angst driven teen.

Instrument:  Jonah - piano, Joshua - sax and piano

Plato is a doctor who lives in Seattle. He is a general medicine specialist with a strong background in ER medicine as well.  Twice divorced with no kids of his own - he feels destined to be the lonely doctor for the rest of his days.

Romeo is the brother all the others worry about.  Seeming to drop out of college in his sophomore year, he announced to the family he was going backpacking through Europe for 2 years.  Romeo drifts from job to job to job and town to town.  However - it is all a rouse.  

Romeo was recruited by the FBI for his natural talent in the art of disguises.  He works undercover using his own name in day to day lives, but at any given moment he may be dressed as a wino, a doctor, or whatever he needs to get the information he seeks.

Currently Romeo is assigned to work in 7th Heaven as a Disc Jockey.

Dr Hoover, PhD, teaches at West City University.  His degrees in Philosophy and Theology allow him to teach both subjects.  He has a minor in English and dabbles in that class from time to time also.  His real passion is his hybrid class he is still trying to get more acceptance for.  For that class he combines bible wisdoms with open philosophies and controversial thought.  The class usually gets him in hot water with hard core religious types, but he sticks to his guns.

Socrates is a family man to the fullest extent with a loving wife Zoe, and 2 teenage twin boys and surprise addition, little Hanna.  He is very very passive but when pushed to the edge he will come back fighting, however, it is always a last resort.  Socrates is one of the leftover hippies.

Instrument:  piano and sax

Solomon is a PhD graduate in Philosophy.  However, unlike Socrates, he just didn't want to quit school, and before he knew it he had so many classes in that discipline he just kept going.  After acquiring his PhD he took a job in Takka City as a professor at the non-Human school.

Solomon has an affinity for guns.  He carries one at almost all times.  He is a mixed soul of meditation on a daily basis, and shooting practice at the range.  Hard to upset, he is often passive, almost too passive - until he has had enough.  Solomon, once set off, is hard to pull back down from his desire to permanently stop the problem.  

He is a very big fan of Jim Morrison or The Doors.

Wolfgang is a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.  He's a good hearted man with a gentle soul.  Though never married, he is very dedicated to his family and his country.  Lieutenant Commander Hoover is with his true love - the wide open passionate sea.
